We’re more than happy to introduce our daughter to the world!
Lilia Joy Wilske came out to meet us at 12:52p this afternoon. She weighed in at 6lbs 10oz and measured 19.5 inches. Mommy and baby are both doing great. She resembles her brother, especially her full head of dark hair.
Baby Girl, Petunia, Matilda, Hortense, Rosemary…she’s been called so many nicknames by our lovely family members and friends. The time is near when she will make her appearance and we can officially introduce our newest family member to the world. Our name for her is a surprise until she is born.
Josh and I have been incredibly busy preparing for her arrival. We finished two bedrooms on the lower level to open up more space in our home. Now both kids can have their own rooms across from ours. We also got a new, slightly larger vehicle in the beginning of the year anticipating the need for increased space. Everyone including the dog has to fit in one vehicle!
As we are anticipating great changes, we are looking forward to her arrival. Ethan has been talking about his “baby sista” for months and giving her lots of hugs and kisses via Mom’s belly. He’s had to experience a few changes already with her upcoming arrival. Ethan transitioned beautifully into a full size bed about a month ago and loves being a big boy. He’s been learning how to be gentle and how he can help Mom and Dad when she comes.
We are so blessed to have another member in our family!
There is new life at the Wilske household now. I’m not just referring to the 6+ lb wonder that is Ethan. Life as Grace and I know it is now quite different. Sure the sun still rises each day, and yes The Office is still on Thursdays, but everything else has changed.
We arrived at home with Ethan on Friday, and have been happily adjusting to our new addition since. We’ve been getting less sleep, sure, but more than we had anticipated. Plus, the hospital hooked us up with some free infant swag. So we got that going for us…which is nice.
Anyhoo, as I promised, here are some more photos of the most handsome Wilske yet.
Ethan Charles Wilske was born this morning at 06:37 CDT at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. He is 6 lbs 12 oz, and is 19 3/4 inches long. Mom, dad, and baby are all doing quite well, though a bit tired (we went in at midnight and haven’t slept a wink).
Ethan (we liked the name) Charles (named after the river where we courted) is a furry little guy, and could use a haircut already.
I’ll post more photos later. For now, we’re all groggy and content.
